Quizzes – again

I had a couple of errands to run last evening, one of which was dropping some stuff to my old friend Howard. Howard is a professional quiz-master and DJ who has been running quizzes around South Woodham Ferrers for as long as weve lived there. And to be fair to Howard, even when Jon and I were running quizzes at The Curlew we were treated with a friendliness that went beyond professional courtesy.

Wednesday evenings are Howards regular quiz nights at The Railway a pub located (not surprisingly) adjacent to the towns railway station so, rather than dropping things to his house, I took the opportunity to see how busy his quizzes were.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were around nine teams competing, ranging from a team of about six, to a sole player. So maybe there is some life in the old quiz night yet.

Incidentally, the sole player was Steve, who was part of the team that Tom and I helped on Sunday evening. It turned out that they won that nights quiz, so maybe our few answers helped.
